Developmental editing, or big-picture editing, involves looking at six story elements and identifying the issues with the purpose of finding out what works, what needs work, and suggesting specific, in-depth revisions.

You'll get feedback on:
I'll look at the manuscript as a whole and pay particular attention to:
- the plot & pacing
- story structure & threads
- theme
- character arcs & POV
- world building
- genre & sub-genre expectations

What you'll get:
- the manuscript with marginal comments
- a 30+-page editorial letter highlighting what works, what needs work, and specific suggestions on how to fix any issues. The letter also comes with links to additional resources.
- My Novel Resource Worksheet, which includes a book map that charts the manuscript's scenes, a chapter graph, a layout of story beats, goal-motivation-conflict chart, and if needed, a story calendar and a character list
- a one-hour video call for questions, brainstorming, and next steps
- text support for the duration of the contract
