My editing journey started just out of college. I took an unassuming part-time job as an assistant to a Financial Consultant, who happened to also be a non-fiction author. I loved line editing her novel so much that I decided that was what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I have been an editor and proofreader since 2010 but decided to specialize as a romance editor in 2020. Since then, I've had the privilege to work with indie authors from contemporary fiction to historical fiction with varying levels of steam.
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in communication studies. Since becoming an editor of kissing books full-time, I have trained in developmental editing for fiction from the Editorial Arts Academy, in line editing from Louise Harnby, and in copyediting and proofreading from Knowaday's "Becoming a Proofreader" course. I've taken additional courses in Creative Writing, and I read one professional craft book a month.
Every single day I can't believe I get to wake up and live my dreams and work with people who truly make me thankful to have met them.
In 2023, I am happy to announce a partnership with Cassie of Weaver Way Author Services to provide formatting and proofreading, which will allow a more cohesive experience for our authors. Aside from the services provided in the packages, she is also available for cover design, personal assistant services, and other services which can be found on her website.
For adult fiction, I'm currently looking for anything that has Halloween or fall vibes (give me all the monsters, witches, vampires, werewolves, demons and angels), any sort of retelling (including/especially Jane Austen and fairy tales), historical romances. I accept any and all books that are funny. Give me all the laughs.
For children's fiction, I'm looking for picture books with an SEL message, as well as children's early novels and middle-grade that fall within the genres I prefer.
